Elerias' profile
On the name Elerias:
I came up with this name when I created my first LARP character, an Elf (one of Tolkiens Elf-folk). I got used to using it in fantasy context so much that I kept it as universal nickname, so you just have to live with it. On the other hand, whenever you encounter a german-speaking Elf in live roleplay there will a good chance to get a nice game of Thud! ;-)
That is where my avatar comes from, as well.
There's a story, though, that might be worth sharing: when once it came to check-out on an event, the scribe asked for my character name. I responded, of course, with "Elerias" and he, all the time with his eyes on his papers, said "That would be a great name for an Elf." Laughing, I just told him to look at my pointy ears.
On Thud!:
I first got in contact with Thud! at Essen / Germany. (There's a big fair for all kinds of board games every year, for those who did not already know.) I did not know anything about Discworld except that such a thing existed. But the game looked nice and was cool. So after testing it, I bought my set. I even got one of those leather boards then, although they were reluctant to sell it at first.
Since then I rarely had a chance to play it in lack of opponents. Until some wild thought brought me to look up the URL I found in my box and here I am.
And never take your Thud board to university. I did and I was hardly able to do the first few moves. Almost instantly there was a crowd of people asking what that game was and what rules there were. ;-)
On me:
I've made you read so much of things you might think of as "crazy" that I feel I owe you some more detail about me.
I'm a student of mathematics (so far) and I take particular delight in mathematical logic and set theory. Those of you who have encountered one of my species will now certainly have some kind of enlightenment.
Apart from roleplaying-business and Thud! there is not much more than my weekly hours at Aikido. (So much for sports.)
